PHYSICAL THEATRE PERFORMERS-ROGUEPLAY THEATRE, BIRMINGHAM RoguePlay Theatre Company are looking for 4 new Physical Theatre performers to join the Company for upcoming works as well as future schools, performance and touring work. RoguePlay Theatre is recognised as one of Birmingham's leading Theatre Companies, creating compelling physical theatre and challenging educational workshops. The Rogues perform throughout the UK. Our pieces are fast-paced, innovative, hard work, but always playful, and we are inspired by Companies like Kneehigh Theatre and Frantic Assembly.
RoguePlay are currently calling for physical theatre performers to engage in a new work entitled ‘Climbing The Walls’. The work deals with concepts of balance and equilibrium, using ropes, rope work and rope access, as well as belaying and bouldering in order to create moments of flux and fall between performers. Rehearsals: Throughout February and March 2011 for preview in April. This will then be followed up with further rehearsal for final shows in July. Performers should have good experience of physical theatre and have strong physicality. Experience of rock climbing is very desirable. Performers will also have the opportunity to work with the Company on a regular basis and become part of the RoguePlay team. Rehearsals are unpaid, although funding is being applied for. Any performance work is paid, and any other performance and education work with the Company is also paid. These terms are negotiated depending on the project. Rehearsals are booked around performers availability.
